My wife Ashley and I decided to take a
weekend away and to give
Skip's
Resort a try. I had
exchanged emails with Skip a few times and had a good impression of him
and his
web page
looked like the place would be fun.
There were pluses and minus. Skip and
his son Chip are definitely plusses. The room was
fine, the beach quite good by Cebu standards and I
can recommend going there to relax.
Some minuses are the town of Daanbantayan itself and the
availability of food. Strangely
enough we did not take very many pictures of the buildings or the town
so I recommend the
reader click one of the links above to see pictures of the inside and
outside of the bulidings.

Skip's Beach Resort from the distance.
When the tide is in the water
goes right up to Skip's seawall. As you can see when
the tide is out it is really out!
View from the balcony. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a nice view.
The second picture is from the ground floor outside eating area.
Here is the two of us on the beach and photo of Ashley using the free
WiFi.
Just off the beach a fisherman works and on the beach one collects
starfish.
The results of his collecting.
Charles playing in the water. This is really close to the seawall with
the tide in.
Ashley also gets wet :)
Just before sunset
and there is a family on the beach.
Some random beach pictures ....
We had a nice quiet time but we
probably won't go back for a combination of reasons. Daanbantayan
as a town is so boring people go to Mass for excitement and there are
more funeral homes than eateries.
The restaurant in Skip's was dismal. There were maybe five
food choices and 2 or 3 of those were not
available. After a couple of days you have had each choice too many
times. The bottom line is that Skip's
is good for a couple of days but after that there are other places and
other resorts to go to.
